5 Ways to Enjoy Rosh Hashanah

L'Shana Tovah! This means Happy New Year to our Jewish neighbors. The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah is a special time of renewal and a moment to be refreshed in the spirit and to unburden the soul. Like every New Year, we can look back to reflect on the mistakes and triumphs we made in the past. This can be a time to determine if we need to change course, start new goals, or renewal our commitment to prayer time. For example, there is the custom of the Tashlich where prayers are said by a body of water. Pieces of bread are tossed into the water to represent a ridding of our sins. The water embodies obstacles that we face during our journey. Additionally, we will have the power to overcome life's challenges. Rosh Hashanah is a time to forgive, spend time with loved ones, eat symbolic foods, listen to the shofar and seek God.
