Prayer is a powerful tool for communicating with our Heavenly Father. It is an opportunity to become one with the Creator and Giver of all things. Prayer helps us to find strength for today and hope for our future. We should actively pray and trust in its power to change our circumstances for good. Your faith life directly correlates to the quality of your prayer life. Prayer has the power to change not only the people and things around you. Prayer also has the power to protect you from all harm, including the enemy and all his evil pursuits. Our world is filled with events and situations that can cause great fear and anxiety. It’s so easy to become overwhelmed and live imprisoned in fear. It’s imperative that we trust in God to protect us in all circumstances. Here are seven prayers for protection and safety.

Thank You For Your Protection and Direction

When you’re in need of strength, one of the best things you can do is call on God for protection and direction. He will direct Your paths for good. If you’re ready for His guidance and protection, pray this prayer silently or out loud: Heavenly Father, I come to You today giving thanks. Thank you for keeping and protecting me. Thank you for Your guidance and direction. Thank you for picking me up when I was at my lowest. You are an awesome God and it is because of You I choose to live and walk in Your favor. In Your name I pray. Amen.

Cast Your Care on Him

Jesus said, “I am the vine.” He talks in John 10:1-18 about how the sheep know the shepherd and the shepherd knows and cares for the sheep. We might not really understand that, but we can think of the way a loving parent cares for a child or the way you might take care of a friend you care for. In your prayer time, thank God for all the ways He cares for and protects you. If you’re ready to cast your care on Him, say this prayer: Heavenly Father, I’d like to apologize to You right now. Sometimes I forget to cast all my cares upon You, and spend more time and effort in worrying than focusing on the peace that comes from resting in Christ. Help me to open my understanding through Your Word and realize that worry not only robs me of our joy and peace in the Lord, but is rooted in the sin of unbelief. Whenever I am lost, please provide me with a better understanding that You alone are the One that will replace foolish worries with divine wisdom. Amen.

For Personal Protection

Unless we avail ourselves within the protective arms of God, we leave ourselves vulnerable 6to the attacks of the evil one. We must be diligent in reading God’s Word, asking Him to watch over and protect us individually. If you’re looking for personal protection today, pray this prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to You today, bowing in my heart, asking for protection from the evil one. Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind. Surround us with Your divine hedge of protection. Encompass us with Your strength and might. Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for job. And may You shelter us, that those who love Your name may exult in You. For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O Lord, You surround Him favor as with a shield (Psalm 5:11-12).

Direct Me

When you’re anxious or concerned and in need of strength, remember that God is the number one healer and can guide you in endless ways. If your heart and life are centered on God, His Word and His Holy Spirit, you can rest assured that He will direct your path. God’s primary means for giving us guidance is in the Bible. “Jesus answered, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and spirit.’” (John 3:5). If you’re ready to trust in God’s ability to direct your life, pray this prayer silently or out loud: Heavenly Father, as I arise today, I pray that Your strength pilot me, Your power uphold me, and Your wisdom guide me. May Your eye look before me, Your hand protect me and Your shield, defend me. Amen.

Protect Me From the Enemy

It’s true. You have an adversary who wants to attack your desires, your thoughts, even how you s4ee and treat your body. It’s imperative that you’re on guard against the devil’s schemes. If you’re in need of protection from the enemy, pray this prayer: Heavenly Father, You give us life. You hold all power in Your hands. In You are only good things. In You is healing of the nations. In You is freedom from worry and freedom from pain. Today, I ask that you forgive me of my faults, my sins, and anything else that may separate me from You. In Your Spirit, Your gift of healing is alive. In You Lord, I can place my trust. Protect me from the enemy, that I may choose life over death today. At this time of much needed healing and change, I pray that I be born again in You. Amen.

For Personal Strength

Our God has worked in history to defeat sin and Satan and hell and death. He did this through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God has the power to strength your mind, body and spirit if you allow Him to be at work in your life. If you’re ready for God to step in and transform you from the inside out, pray this prayer silently or out loud: Heavenly Father, I ask you to strengthen my mind, body and spirit today. When I’m weary, may I be refreshed. When I’m worn, may I be renewed. When I’m broken, may I be restored. When I’m fearful, may I become faithful. I pray that I walk in complete confidence today knowing that the Lord Almighty is with me. Amen.

I Surrender All

God calls on all of us to make total surrender to God. If you’re in need of strength and are ready for a change in your life in a way that you’ve never known before, God demands that you allow the Lord to become the ruler of your life. We can only do this when we surrender to Him. If you’re ready to fully let go and let God, pray this prayer silently or out loud: Heavenly Father, I surrender every area of my mind, will and emotions to You. I choose to dwell in Your goodness and faithfulness so that the good seeds You’ve planted in my life will take root. Keep me close to You and direct my steps down the good path You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

God wants us to let go of fear and to live life to the fullest! John 10:10 reminds us, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” When you are overcome by worry, use these prayers for protection and safety to remember who God is and the protection He has promised you.
