Receiving the Spirit
Why should Pentcost be important to Christians – even if they aren’t Pentecostals? This is the day on which Christians first received the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus promised they would. Filled with that power, they ran out and founded the church. At the first-ever altar call, 3,000 festival-goers were stricken with guilt and remorse over rejecting Jesus, fell to their knees in repentance and participated in the first Christian baptisms in history – all 3,000 of them.
