Finding Time to Fast
Fasting has been practiced since ancient times. The first person who fasted in Scripture was Moses, who abstained from bread and water for 40 days and 40 nights while writing the 10 Commandments on Mount Sinai (Exodus 34:28). Since then, fasting has been practiced by many cultures and religious denominations. In our modern world, fasting seems quaint and old-fashioned, and many have never experienced the powerful effects it can bring to our spiritual lives. Following are a few ideas to incorporate the practice of fasting into our busy lives.
