Where did that come from?
My rock. People often refer to their spouse or close friend as “my rock” because in times of stress or trouble that person can be completely relied upon. The origin of the phrase is "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer," found in Psalm 18:22 as well as Samuel 22:47 and Psalm 145:18-20. In Matthew 7:24-25, those who heed Jesus” words are said to be like the wise man who built his house on a rock rather than the foolish man who built on shifting sand. “The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted," proclaims King David in Psalm 18:45.
