Got Faith Post itLately I’ve been thinking a lot about faith and trust and asking myself, how much of it do I really have? And, what does it take to have 100% faith and trust that my life is un-folding exactly as it should?

As someone who has had ongoing success, I sometimes wonder if my desires arise because part of me already knows what is coming, or do I influence what is coming be-cause I create the conditions for it to arise? Maybe it’s a little of both!

Here’s the part I know for sure: once I drop my desire into the Universal soup, it’s time to surrender and trust that what I have asked for is already mine. So, wherever you are in your manifesting process - don’t forget this piece of the pie.

Mother Nature knows how to do her job.You wouldn’t go pulling on the leaves of your tomato plant at 3:00am saying to it “grow faster, grow faster” now would you?

So how exactly does one “drop their desire” into the “Universal Soup”?

Here’s the process:

Let’s say you want to manifest more money in your life.Your internal dialogue might be, “I want more money, I need more money., how in the world am I going to get more money? This conversation is a sure fire way that more money is not coming to you. Why? Because you are operating out of the mindset that “money is missing” which will continually prove to be your experience.

The more effective way to have more money is to begin with gratitude. Look, see, and most importantly, feel, how grateful you are for all of the abundance that is already in your life. Get out your journal and write down at least things that are proof that you are already living in prosperity, even it’s as simple as “I am so grateful for the beautiful clothes in my closet,”  or “I am so grateful that my car is fully paid for.”

Then sit down and close your eyes. Take a few slow, deep breaths, and move your atten-tion to your heart. Take one item from your gratitude list and deeply feel your gratitude for this. Allow yourself to fully experience your appreciation for this abundance in your life. Once you are feeling this, in the biggest way possible, then drop in the desire for something specific. Perhaps you want $300 to buy something such as a new outfit for a big event, or perhaps to pay for your child’s upcoming birthday party. With your imagi-nation begin to feel what it feels like to have already successfully made this happen. See and feel yourself, in present moment awareness in the outfit or at the birthday party. And in this present moment, again feel the gratitude for this gift. The key here is to feel and observe, knowing and trusting that what you have asked for is already yours. As long as you allow yourself to have the thought that you can’t have it or can’t afford it, you will push it away.

quenching the Holy Spirit, walking in the Spirit, gifts of the Spirit, Spirit quenchHere are a few of my favorite quotes on faith:

"Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe." - Saint Augustine

"Faith is believing that the outcome will be what it should be, no matter what it is."  - Colette Baron-Reid

"Faith is an oasis in the heart which will never be reached by the caravan of think-ing." - Khalil Gibran

"Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark." - Tagore

Practicing “faith” takes a bit of discipline - we need to stay aware of our thoughts and beliefs and not let our monkey mind get the best of us. It has been said that having the desire for something is the proof that it is attainable for you, otherwise you wouldn’t have the desire!

One important note here:  you do not need to know how, when or where your desire will be fulfilled. That is not up to you and it is not your job. However, you do need to practice faith, trust and surrender! Here's what I do: As a constant reminder to do this practice, I’ve recently put a post it note on my computer that says “Got Faith?”

Every time I see this note, I take a moment to drop in and have a little faith.
