Smart Hotel technology makes me feel stupid. But I turned a corner last week when I realized that it wasn’t personal. There were three of us, multiple ages and genders, punching elevator buttons that would not light up. One amongst us finally realized we were to put our plastic room key into the magic slot which would turn from red to green. After two fails, it was finally my turn. The light changed, the elevator budged, and I basked in the gratitude of my fellow travelers.
