Chariots of Fire Theme - Vangelis
“Chariots of Fire” is the haunting 1981 musical score by Greek composer Vangelis for the inspiring movie of the same name which won four Academy Awards including Best Picture and Original Music Score. The piece, actually named “Titles,” topped the Billboard 200 for four weeks and stayed on the list for 97 weeks, selling three million copies. Vangelis played all the instruments, including synthesizers, acoustic piano and percussion -- and recorded the score himself in his small studio in London. He performs in public rarely, only six known times since 1986 – each time performing “Chariots of Fire” although he has multiple other movie themes to his credit.
