Conjuring up faith?
That’s what the film’s protagonists, Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmigia), discover. The film directed by “Saw” director James Wan is based on the real-life experiences of a couple who make their living ridding homes of evil spirits. The Warrens’ career was described in the 1977 bestselling The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson, which inspired no less than ten films between 1979 and 2011. In “The Conjuring,” the Warrens help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. They are forced to confront a powerful demonic entity and find themselves caught in what they described as the most terrifying case of their lives.
