Lending a hand
A new one is Investors 4 Charity. It’s the brainchild of Charles Parlato, a Wall Street hedge-fund veteran. Donors can choose from charities selected by the project’s developers – and receive a tax deduction for their contribution. Its first film project is slated to be Nicaea, a historical epic. The $40 million motion picture seeks to tell the story of Constantine the Great, the first Roman emperor to embrace Christianity – and his part in calling the historic Council of Nicaea. “There is no more consequential figure in the history of the West than Constantine,” said Parlato. “The sealing of Europe for Christianity is the turning point for the world because Christianity is the lynchpin for all of Western ideology and culture.”
