In his classic work of German-Jewish philosophy, Buber suggested thathuman relationships took two forms: I-It, and I-Thou. Most of thetime, we fall into I-It relationships, but ideally we have an I-Thourelationship--a relationship where true dialogue with another being,even God, is possible.
