Wade Clark Roof is the J.F. Rowny Professor of Religion and Society and Chair of the Department of Religious Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is the author most recently of "Spiritual Marketplace: Baby Boomers and the Remaking of American Religion" (Princeton University Press) and editor-in-chief of a two-volume encyclopedia, "Contemporary American Religion" (Macmillan Reference USA).
