I love olive oil. I make salads dressing with it, and drizzle it over almost every meal. But, there are even more uses for olive oil than just at meal time.

Olive oil is a inexpensive all natural way to improve your beauty routine and your health.

Here are 5 ways I use it for a “home spa” experience.

1) Cuticle and nail moisturizer.  Massage olive oil into your cuticles and nail bed. You can also soak your hands in a bowl with warm water and olive oil for extra softness.

2) Control hair frizz. Depending on your hair texture, a little olive oil applied to the ends can leave hair sleek and shiny.

3) As hair conditioner treatment. Use olive oil to restore your hair’s health and vibrancy. Heat 1/2 cup of olive oil ( be careful the oil can get really hot ) and apply to your hair. Cover your hair with a plastic grocery bag and then a warm towel from the dryer. Let the mixture sit for 30-60 minutes. Then shampoo and rinse your hair.

4) Exfoliate your face and hands. Gently without pulling, rub your skin with olive oil, then scrub with a mixture of equal parts cane sugar and honey. You can also make a exfoliant by combining the olive oil, honey and cane sugar together. Work the mixture over your face in gentle circles, avoiding the eye area.

5) Soften your skin. At night apply olive oil on dry areas, such as your feet or elbows. You can also do this during the day.
