Bible time
What do you want to be remembered for after you are gone? Be known for loving Christ so much that others ask why you have that happiness and ask your how they can obtain it themselves. Be known for speaking His name so proudly and boldly, without fear that people stop what they’re doing to ask you who He is and how to get to know Him. Be willing to take the time to pray for and with others. Be willing to take the time out of your everyday life in order to witness for Him. Be known for having the peace that surpasses all human understanding. Tell others about the peace He brings to your life and how awesome your life is because of Him.  Be known to carry that peace in your heart and soul. Be the person that people look at and ask themselves “why are they so happy? What do they have within themselves that I don’t have? How come I can’t seem to find any peace in my life?” Be that light that points people towards Him. Share your love of the Father through any means necessary.
Showing God’s love doesn’t mean running the scriptures up into people’s minds and hearts in a forceful way though, either. You can show them the goodness of Christ and the example of Christ, through your words and your actions. Be willing to cook a meal for someone who just lost a loved one, take the time to listen to anybody who needs someone to talk to. Tell someone that you love them and that you’re praying for them. Be kind to unkind people. Feed the poor, and the homeless. Love without expecting anything in return. Turn away when people rebuke you. Turn away when someone wants to start a fight with you to avoid even more trouble. Be able to speak calmly even when you may be feeling angry. Do something nice and unexpected for others without expecting a reward for it. Do it because God put it on your heart to do it.  Mathew 25:40 says, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’   That’s exactly what Jesus did while He was here on Earth. Who better to imitate than Jesus?
Leave that legacy so the topic that people talk about the most after you’re gone is that, you knew and loved and served the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind and loved everyone as you loved yourself, just as Jesus commanded. It is not always easy to be His follower, but what better legacy to leave on this Earth than to know that others came to know Christ through your words and actions and by your prayers for them and with them? There is no greater gift than to know Christ as the Lord and Savior over your life. Share that good news with anyone. Be the change that needs to happen in the world. Stand up for your faith, even though it could mean you could die for it. Be willing to die for your faith. Stand up for your faith in Jesus, even when others ridicule you and call you crazy. Follow the straight and narrow path. Be Jesus’ example to others and maybe others will see you and follow His example too. Mathew 7:14 says, “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Not everyone will know the peace, mercy and healing and ultimate gift that Jesus is. It is a heartbreaking reality, but you can also take heart that you are chosen by God, each and every one of you, to lead others to Him.
Be the person who oozes faith so passionately that people want to get to know Christ and how He does His work in you and through you. Show them who Jesus is by reading some of your favorite verses in the Bible and showing them His word. Invite people to Bible study and church, and see if they show up. Keep spreading the word of His Kingdom to others. Be the person that some people may actually call, “the Jesus freak”, and be proud of that title. Live your life for Him, even when people tear you down for it.
You can be a blessing to others just by being like Jesus towards them, even though it can be very difficult at times.
Be the light that shines wherever you are. Whether it is at school, college or in your workplace or even at home. Be the person that helps others without expecting anything in return. Let your legacy be that you love Christ and that you are His beloved child. Invite others to His Kingdom of love. Let your legacy be for the fulfillment of His purposes in your life and for His Kingdom.
