Cleveland water customers will pay more for water starting July 1.
(WATCHWOMAN’S NOTE: That’s a whole lot more people than those just living in the City of Cleveland. It means everyone who uses the water that comes from the Cleveland Water Department, which is just about everybody in the greater Cleveland area. Who sends you your water bill? Most likely the Cleveland Water Dept. Because 10 people on the Cleveland City Council decided you have to pay more, you will. ▬ Donna Calvin)
Cleveland City Council raises water rates in 10-8 vote
By Thomas Ott, The Plain Dealer
CLEVELAND, Ohio –Cleveland City Council voted 10-8 Monday to raise water rates, a rare display of discord driven by unhappiness with the system’s management.
Council approved a series of rate increases extending through 2015. The typical Cleveland customer’s rate will rise 82 percent over five years, while suburban rates climb about 50 percent.
The first step, raising the minimum service charge from $7 to $18, will begin showing up on third-quarter residential bills. The first increase will not affect Lakewood, Cleveland Heights, Bedford, Chagrin Falls and Geauga County, which buy water wholesale and resell it to their residents.

The Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) has submitted a model anti-bullying policy to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights for recommendation to local school boards and other governing bodies. The constitutionally sound policy was drafted by ADF attorneys and is featured on TrueTolerance.org, an initiative of Focus on the Family.
“All students deserve to be protected from bullying, not just certain ones favored by certain political activist groups,” said ADF Legal Counsel Dale Schowengerdt. “The policy is designed for local school boards where it can be effective, instead of involving the federal government, and guards student rights protected by the First Amendment.”
Candi Cushman, who developed the TrueTolerance website, said her goal — and the goal of ADF’s model policy — is to “protect all children against bullying for any reason.”
“Strong, effective anti-bullying policies,” she said, “can be developed in a way that both strongly protects children and respects parental rights and religious freedoms.”

A total of 116 people are confirmed dead as a result of Sunday’s tornado in Joplin, Missouri. The death toll from the Joplin twister is tied for the second highest in the United States since the National Weather Service began keeping such tornado records in 1950. And it may still go higher.
The Mississippi is flooding hundreds of thousands of acres cutting the USA in half.
What is it going to take for America to wake up and repent?
God is judging America.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. [2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV]
