Watchwoman on the Wall

Watchwoman: The headline of the news item below says: “Offensive?: Controversial church sign causes chaos” — referring to calling sin sin!  What an amazing and controversial thing to do!  Is that hateful?  Trying to tell someone they are headed to hell for sinning?  Trying to save them from the eternal torment of hell’s flames?  Did you think you would ever be living in the era when God’s Commandments and God’s Words are considered hate speech?  God has to be so upset with America and Ohio.  So let us plead that God will have mercy on the righteous. Thank God we have Pastors like  Greg Davis of the Southwest Baptist Church who is responsible for quoting God’s Word to passersby on I-71.  Let us pray…”May God protect and strengthen this brave and stouthearted man of God for standing up against sin!  In Jesus name, we pray and affirm our complete agreement with [John 8:36] If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.  Amen.”   + † +  Why isn’t WOIO being bombarded with hearing from God’s people who agree that homosexuality is a sin?  If you are not part of the solution, Christian believer, then you are part of the problem!  ▬ Donna Calvin

What God’s Word says about those who hate Christians

[John 7:7] The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.
[John 15:18] If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
[John 15:19] If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
[John 17:14] I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[1 John 3:13] Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Offensive?: Controversial church sign causes chaos

19 Action News has been bombarded with complaints about a sign that was put up by a local church. It says homosexuality is a sin.

It’s a sign that just about anyone driving south on I71 would see.

“There are so many people driving along that highway and that is such a terrible sign in general,” Tommy Marzella said.

Tommy Marzella and Dan Symons have a petition going to have it removed. They disagree with the pastor of Southwest Baptist Church.

Pastor Greg Davis tells 19 Action News that homosexuality is a choice. But these two who are gay– argue that point.

“I would disagree with that because if it were a choice I would be straight and why would I want to live a more complicated lifestyle,” questioned Dan Symons.

Davis did not want to go on camera, but he says the sign is meant to help people struggling with their sexuality and if they entered his church they would help them make the right decision.

Davis adds, the sign is also freedom of speech.
Marzella and Symons agree — but say this…

“I think it’s the fine line when it becomes hate speech what he is putting up there is very offensive to a lot of people who identify themselves as gay,” said  Dan Symons.

The duo heading the fight against the sign would like to sit down with the pastor and have a dialogue.

They want an exchange of ideas and attitudes.

But for now the pastor says that sign will be up the entire month of November.
