Pray For Dr. Dobson

posted by Donna Calvin

Tuesday, September 13, 2011  – Gary Bauer writes: My good friend Dr. James Dobson is in the hospital recovering from multiple bone fractures after falling off a horse while on vacation. His daughter, Danae, says he’s doing well and, thankfully, suffered no serious complications. Please remember Dr. Dobson, and his wife, Shirley, in your prayers in the days ahead.

Let us pray…Father God in heaven.  Thank You for preserving Dr. Dobson’s life in the immediate fall from a horse.  He is not a young man and he is going to need Your Help in recovering.  He has served You most every day of his life in good faith. We need millions more like him.  Heal him in the name of Jesus.  Also, be with his wife, Shirley, who has headed up the National Day of Prayer for years and years, and his entire family, Danae who we have known as a young child.  We have known about Danae, her energy, her zest for life and strong willed-ness through Dr. Dobson’s wonderful books.  We have all loved Dr. Dobson and his family for years.  We know You love him more.  Preserve his health, ease the pain, and give him many more good years of faithful and active ministry, for he has always been an activist for the causes You, O Lord, espouse. In Jesus’ name, we pray.  Amen.

Dr. James Dobson Released From Hospital After Montana Accident

For Immediate Release

Contact Paul Hetrick 888-743-0239

September 30, 2011
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Dr. James C. Dobson, PhD., well-known Christian psychologist, author and radio broadcaster, has been released from a Colorado hospital where he was recovering from injuries received in a horseback-riding accident two weeks ago in Montana. He sustained a serious back injury while competing in a horse event, sustaining fractures to his clavicle and scapula, but is now recovering sufficiently to be able to go home.

Dr. Dobson will soon be resuming his duties –including daily radio– at Family Talk, the new communications ministry he founded early last year. In the meantime, he expressed his personal appreciation to the Family Talk staff for maintaining a smooth-running organization in his absence. “They have kept the wheels turning, and I am proud of them,” Dr. Dobson stated prior to leaving the hospital.

Since his accident and injuries, personal updates from the Dobson family have been posted on the Family Talk website.

Broadcast co-hosts, LuAnne Crane and Ryan Dobson, alerted Family Talk radio listeners about the Montana incident, and mention was also made on the organization’s Facebook site, resulting in an overwhelming outpouring of concern from a great number of friends and constituents. Dr. and Mrs. Dobson have been touched by these many expressions of love, support and prayers.
