Why is the NY Times and liberal media Demonizing Christianity?

posted by Donna Calvin

Excerpt from Bill O’Reilly – Why Demonize Christianity?

“The … reason is purely political. The left well understands that Christian opposition to things like abortion, gay marriage, and drug legalization makes those liberal causes more difficult to achieve. Thus, anything that diminishes Christianity is fair game to be promoted. Every newsworthy sin committed by a Christian is highlighted with a sneering reference to hypocrisy. Any whiff of Christian intolerance is celebrated in the press.”

CrossDemonizing Christianity
…why are the New York Times and some other liberal media playing the “Christian extremist” card?
The front page headline in the New York Times last Monday was stunning: “AS HORRORS EMERGE,NORWAY CHARGES CHRISTIAN EXTREMIST.”That would be Anders Behring Brevik, the 32-year-old mass murderer who took at least 76 innocent lives apparently because he doesn’t like Muslims living in Europe. But why would the Times brand Brevik as a Christian? The killer is not attached to any church, has no history of Christian activity, has openly criticized the Protestant philosophy, and has committed acts counter to all Christian teaching……The second reason is purely political. Any whiff of Christian intolerance is celebrated in the press.Continue reading this column on BillOReilly.com…http://www.billoreilly.com/newslettercolumn?pid=33094

There was a time when your link might have moved me. Not anymore, sorry.

Your god may very well exist, dcalvin, but that doesn’t automatically make him worthy of worship and praise.

I’m so sorry for you, Mordred08. Whatever happened to cause you such deep bitterness and disdain has obviously distorted your worldview. You are not the first. It happened to name a few, Pharaoh in Exodus, Herod in the New Testament and Judas, the one who betrayed Jesus. Those were the saddest cases where the object never repented. However, there are cases where the person repented. Saul, whose name was changed to Paul, repented and look at all the joy that came from that one man who repented. Paul’s letters to his friends established the foundational doctrines of the Christian Church! A prostitute in the Old Testament had a change of heart and brought the two spies, Caleb and Joshua, inside the city’s walls through a window and she is known throughout all Christendom for her godly goodness. God is able to heal the most sorrowful broken heart, even your’s. I know you will likely not believe me one iota, Mordred08, but I truly care about you and your future, not only here on planet earth, but in eternity — and eternity is a very, very long time. The group of people who saw God’s power save them from the Egyptian army by parting the Red Sea threw up their hands in utter despair in [Deuteronomy 1:27] And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. — thinking that the LORD hated them. But that didn’t happen. The Amorites didn’t destroy them. The LORD didn’t ever hate them! The LORD loved them, Mordred08. And regardless of what awful things happened in your life to distort your viewpoint of God our Father, He does love you. One day, you will bow down because it is written, [Romans 14:11] For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Over 600 prophecies were fulfilled by the birth, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is not one word that God ever spoke that has not or eventually will be completely and utterly fulfilled — exactly as He spoke it. Mordred08, Jesus came to bring you peace. [John 14:27] Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. — May you one day find that peace, Mordred08. I have, and I know that I know that He is worthy of all my worship and all my praise. I adore Him! And I’m willing to say it to you, to a dozen, to a thousand, to everyone on planet earth. I adore Him! Praise the Name of the LORD! [Revelation 5:12] Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Because no news outlet has ever reported about acts of terrorism committed by those who call themselves Muslims. Oh wait, yes they do, all the time. So really this is another case of Christians demanding special treatment.
