You’ll want to watch this – two versions, one in German, the other Italian (this one slightly longer). Interesting footage of the Pope saying Mass in the chapel in the Apostolic Palace (ad orientem – in Italian, I think. ), a Pope’s-eye view of the Angelus, riding the elevator, a walk in the Vatican Gardens, a little piano playing, catching a little television at the end of the day, signing big old documents (can you make out "Motu Proprio?) …etc. Very interesting.

The Italian version has much more Mass footage – any translations of anything would be appreciated. I think those in attendance at the Mass were members of the Papal household.

(What does the Pope say in the elevator?)

(I’d be interested to know what Cardinal Kaspar says about him in the German version, as well)

Via Michael

All in German, but an inside look at Pope Benedict in his papal apartment, chapel, study and even watching some television.

And an Italian version that is longer that includes some of the same footage…
