The Milwaukee paper picks up on the buzz about Dolan going to NY after Egan’s retirement.

WCBS-TV in New York reported Monday that Dolan is one of a handful of prelates whose names keep popping up as a possible successor to Egan. The station, which interviewed a number of New York priests, also named O’Brien, who is a New York native, and Roberto Gonzalez Nieves, who once served as a parish priest in the Bronx and is archbishop of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

It’s a long article – Dolan has long been thought of as being destined for a larger see than Milwaukee, although "larger" is hard to quantify when you’re talking about Catholic dioceses and their problems. Milwaukee was pretty "large" when Dolan arrived and has shrunk, in that respect, only a bit.
