A great new Byzantine Rite Catholic blog – a group blog with several contributors.

Clayton Emmer has posted a podcast of a recording he made of one of my talks – that one in SoCal where I had the good fortune to meet him!

The latest HMS podcast containing a "Prove It!" segment

Fr. Bryce Sibley is featured in this TV news piece about DVC reactions – Fr. Sibley is the proprietor of the late, lamented, Saintly Salmagundi blog.

Most importantly, please go read Alicia the Midwife’s blog about a horrifying situation involving a friend of hers – a blog reader passes it along with this note:

The long and short of the story is, Nancy has 12 children and the eldest son was accused of abusing the 10-year-old daughter.
Child protective services removed all the children from the house, citing Nancy and her husband’s failure to protect them from the alleged abuse, including the 13-month-old who is only breast-fed.
This is the first post on the situation, including a break-down of the abuses by CPS against Nancy’s children.
And this is the most recent post on the situation.  Apparently, the 13-month-old was returned to Nancy with bruises, swelling (to the point they thought he had a skull fracture) and other injuries.  Then CPS took him away again and placed him back with the foster family from whence these injuries came.
This is very upsetting and heartbreaking.  Even if the allegations of abuse are true, the rest of Nancy’s children do not deserve to be scattered in a system that is clearly doing them more harm than good.
I think we all need to rally for the sake of Nancy (who is also an NFP-only midwife), her husband, and especially her children.  It’s so upsetting to me that it makes me cry.
