Nothing like stopping at your corner convenience store to get some gas, and seeing…your bishop!

Dang, if I’d been two minutes earlier, I could exchanged witticisms in the Burger Dairy with the Bishop. But that’s okay – Katie popped out to meet her friends, who were walking up to the store as well on  their way to watch a basketball game at school, and they all stood and spoke to him for a minute before he drove off. Slowly.

And yeah, I flat out asked the clerk what he’d bought. "A paper and a Coke." Ah, call Dan Brown! "But last time," he said, "He bought lottery tickets."  Well, Powerball is at 101 million.

(It’s actually not surprising – the bishop lives about ten streets away from us, in a normal ranch house in a normal neighborhood…)
