In the latest development amid the tensions gripping Sydney, a Uniting Church hall in Auburn was burned to the ground overnight, while the nearby St Thomas’ Anglican Church had a dozen windows smashed about the same time.

This follows vandalism of the St Albans Anglican church at Macquarie Fields yesterday morning and an incident on Monday night in which shots were fired outside a Christmas carol service at the Catholic St Joseph the Worker Primary School in Auburn.
