As you know, Typepad was "degraded" today. ‘Sokay. Michael the Baby woke up in the middle of the night, sick. Like vomiting sick – for the first time in his 13-month old life. Problem was he kept, you know, (prepare for TMI) swallowing it back. He didn’t quite get the concept of the natural progression of things until later, in the car. Which was both good and bad, as such things are.

So upshot was, I was exhausted, he didn’t go to the sitter’s, and both he and I slept much of the morning. Blogging would not have happened anyway. But never fear…here we go.

This evening, Katie and I went to a local production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. I’d seen it onstage when I was not much older than Katie, at the Bijou Theater. I’m fairly sure I went with a friend, and that we spent several weeks afterwards singing "Am–a–a-hl!" to each other.

Anyway, back to the present – it was a really lovely production – the leads were all, without exception, very strong. Such a gem. Katie had never heard of it, and I decided to not tell her too much about it before the show – she was delighted and surprised. ..

Back in time to see the end of The Court Jester, and now Up in Arms – on TCM, Danny Kaye marathon. Never seen th latter before, but so far the one-man satirical takedown of the Hollywood Musical is something to marvel at..
