J-N’-Vs statement on the Benedict-Kueng meeting. Really. Read it before you’re tempted to start picking. Again. It doesn’t say "agree to disagree," it says:

Both agreed that it made no sense, in the framework of the meeting, to enter into a dispute on the persistent doctrinal differences between Hans Küng and the magisterium of the Catholic Church.

Anyway. Isn’t Kueng still a priest in active ministry? Is this reference to him as Professor and not as "Reverend" or something, just a European thing of which I am naturally unaware?
