A Moltmann Week

posted by Tony Jones

This week, I’ll be consumed by the 2009 Emergent Village Theological Conversation with Jurgen Moltmann, an event that my company, JoPa Productions, is producing.  Here’s the Twitter feed of the event, so you can look on with us.

Tony, it was an absolutely amazing week with Jurgen Moltmann. Thoroughly enjoyed getting to sit at lunch with him and you, while sharing a few laughs about SC politics! I’ll be posting some additional info on my blog and on the Upstate Emergence website.
Thanks for a fantastic event, and I will certainly plan to be a part of the next theological conversation. It was a much-needed “retreat” for me.

This was my first Emergent event so I really have nothing to compare it to, but I thought it was rousing success and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A great way for me to start off my semester. Thanks for putting it on.

Ending Christian Euphemisms: "Fundamentalist"
I've taken some heat in the comment section for using yesterday's post on "unbiblical" and a "higher view of scripture" as a thin foil for my own disregard of biblical standards. To the contrary, I was pointing to the use of the word unbiblical as a stand-in for a particularly thin hermeneutic. Ther

Why You Should Get GENERATE
Last week at Christianity21, GENERATE Magazine debuted. With the tag line, "an artifact of the emergence conversation," it fit perfectly at the gathering. When I actually got around to reading it last weekend, I was truly surprised at how good it is.There have been several efforts to begin a paper j
