Through the Lens of Faith

IMG_1773Do you grill? I don’t own one but appreciate a great burger or steak that has been cooked on one of these machines. There’s nothing better.

I had to laugh when I see in this picture the fire extinguisher right next to the machine that depends on fire for its work! It makes me think of finding a balance in our faith between the fire-y times of frustration or exuberant joy and the times we have been extinguished.

Sometimes being extinguished can be a blessing in disguise. Maybe you were experiencing too much fire and not enough of the soft firelight. It can be helpful to slow down – in life and in faith. You can get a different perspective when the fire isn’t raging and it can prepare you for the next time it does.
