Hi Mark and Jill, thanks for your post.
I too am intrigued with that text you mentioned where Jesus hears the Father’s words of blessings,”You are my dearly loved son and you bring me great joy.” Surely these words sustained him in the Wilderness when the devil tried to make him prove his identity. And no coincidence that Jesus had his identity established by the Father first (Luke 3) before he starts his ministry (Luke 4)of setting captives free. He got the order right – being before doing. Our world seems to turn that around – we operate more like the devil – Prove who you are by what you do – that’s inverting the order – putting doing before being.

A Posthumous Lesson from Dad
A few weeks ago I found some goblets at my favorite antique store, “The Crooked Willow” just outside the little town where we work, Osakis, Minnesota. One of them was undoubtedly my Dad’s glasscutting work. I knew this would happen one day; and I often looked at antique stores to find crystal
