Lindsay is making headlines once again. She landed herself I a bit of trouble this week due to failing an alcohol test. She claims she failed the test because she drinks kombucha tea, which contains less than .05% alcohol. Speculation surrounds the issue of Lindsay having parties in her home while under house arrest as well. The judge clearly laid down the law, telling the star, “You are not to have parties. I am ordering it. You can have one friend at a time. That is it.”

Regardless if Lindsay failed her alcohol test based on tea consumption, her behavior lends itself to ending up in the same chaotic situations. In recovery it is crucial to change the people you hang out with, the places you frequented and the things that became familiar habits. Hopefully Lindsay will realize that she continues to get these second and third chances, but her luck will eventually run out.

According to Lindsay, “I’d like to do what I must to get my film career back and the respect of directors, actors, writers, studio heads, fans and so on.” While this is an advantageous goal, her main goal must be to remain sober and work a strong program of recovery. The life she has in front of her must be different then the life she has led. It is my hope that Lindsay receives the support she needs to embrace a fulfilling recovery.

Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, can be seen next week in the fifth season of Celebrity Rehab on VH1.
