There is a lot of talk about whether young evangelicals are moving anywhere politically, or whether they’ll be more of the same. There is plenty of evidence for the latter so far in this election cycle, but there is also evidence for a shift with regard to tone and style–culture war exhaustion is one of the key markers of young evangelical political identity. (You hear that, Sarah?)
We noticed today that a Beliefnet Community member started a group to discuss this issue, using as a starting point Krista Tippett’s recent “Speaking of Faith” episode featuring representatives from three generations of evangelicals who are politically active: Charles Colson, Greg Boyd, and Shaine Claiborne. The group is just getting started and could be a place of lively discussion–check it out
