Imagine my surprise when I drove past our fair grounds last week and saw a bunch of camels roaming around near one of the horse barns.  What in the world?  Then a few days later I drove past and the same corral was full of llamas.  I was just too curious, so I stopped to take pictures and talk to one of the caretakers.

It seems that these critters, plus some snakes, monkeys, and a white tiger have dropped  in Fremont for a visit before they begin their fall tour with the Piccadilly Circus.  These camels are about 6 years old; 3 males and 3 females.  Two of the females are pregnant.

Zack Garden, owner of Piccadilly Circus, said that nearly 200 people stop by daily to see the animals and take pictures.     Rena, Joe, Gus, Cash, Sheba, and Jara don’t seem to mind all the attention.  It’s not as hot here as in their natural home, the Arabian Desert.  Although, one of them showed his teeth and growled at me.  I guess he didn’t want to be in  my blog.  Another one was taking his morning shower.  I didn’t get close enough to read their name tags, so I don’t  know who growled at me, but I didn’t think it was very polite.  I had to back up fast to avoid those big ugly teeth.  Although, I guess it was my own fault for getting too close.

The Sandusky County Fair begins next week and there will be camel rides.  The other animals will be on display as well.  I can’t wait to see my new FRIENDS  next week at the fair.  I wonder if they will remember me.

Our God is so creative.  I bet Adam had fun naming all these unusual animals.  I’m sure he didn’t get bored, but I do wonder how he chose some of the names he did.  I just enjoy seeing them.  I love all animals, even snakes, as long as they don’t take me by surprise.
