Rebirth

posted by jperry

Whether you celebrate Easter, Passover, Beltane, or just celebrate Spring, you can feel a rebirth.

When I smell the fresh air in spring, I am instantly transported back to being young. I remember it always symbolized possibility to me. The feeling of a new burst of energy. I’d think of all the things I wanted to do when the sun was shining and it was warm enough to ride my bike or take a walk for the first time in Spring. How much fun can I have? Who will I meet? Summer’s almost here. Look at all the flowers. The world has come alive again. My birthday is also in Spring, on May 15th, so I would feel myself growing up and I loved it. Nowadays, I feel Spring makes me feel younger, as if my soul becomes lighter and freer. I love to embody the wisdom and appreciation of age, but with the wonder and youthfulness of a child.

Each Spring, I take pictures of flowers and pull my car over just to stare.  I swear the flowers call out to me because it never seems as if they catch other people’s attention like they do mine.  First, it’s the daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, cheery blossoms, dogwoods, etc. Then Wisteria starts to flood certain trees with its purple magic. I shout out, “Look!’ as I’m driving and scare my kids half to death. They’re like, “Yeah, Mom, we see. . .they look the same as last year.” But you see, they’re never the same bloom of any flower, tree, or plant. And we are never the same person each Spring. We are more brilliant and beautiful in some way than the year before because life is about growth. I strive to grow into more love daily and think of every day as my rebirth.

Let your heart dwell on the possibilities for your life and for you right now.

Whatever you’ve been working on for a while, where you have an issue, a block, or something you’ve been trying to improve, take a step today.  No more excuses, feelings of lack, or not being good enough. . .it’s your rebirth.  You get to choose how you define yourself from here on out.  Do one thing in the direction of your goal today.  Ultimately we want to feel good and everything we want is really leading to that goal.  Not the fleeting, conditional, empty feeling good we get that is impulse driven like in addictions, but the real-soul-feel-good.  You want that all is right in the world feeling.  Ask yourself what is one thing you could do to get these good vibes flowing.  Achieving your goals are a lot easier when your vibe is higher anyway.  But the first step is, and this is a biggie because it’s declaring it to the Universe, write down what you want.  Seems like it’s not an action step, but it’s bold to dream, to strive, to want to make changes.  God shows us an infinite, ever-evolving Universe that promotes growth, and is never stagnant.  People aren’t meant to be either.  Just like in the wintertime, when things don’t seem to be growing, underneath the surface, magical things are happening.  One day, you see a little sprout.  You see a tiny flash of green.  Before you know it, you see a full bloom.  This is the what it feels like when we plant seeds for our own growth.  We must trust that underneath the surface, even though we can’t see it, a rebirth is occurring.  Trust your rebirth today.  Plant a seed.  I dare ya.

Oh Jenny,, I just adore you! Your topic in this piece happens to be about one of my very favorite things. Growing things,, from flowers inside and out, a veggie garden every year, fresh herbs on the windowsill ,, there are just about as many plants in my house as there are places for them! My favorite part though,, is seeing that first little sprout! I even save the seeds from my garden in the fall, to replant in the spring, rebirth. I plant seeds from fruit or veggies that I find while making dinner,, apple trees, even grapefruit and orange. I save the seeds from my favorite pansies trying to make my own color combination! Can you tell I’m very ready to start planting outside? Here in NEPA, still not quite safe! Anyway,,, great point of view there,, several! Well, since one of my future goals is to be completely self sufficient in growing my own healthy veggies and finding the perfect pansy color,,, now would be a great time to go out and clean up last years old,, to make room for this year’s new ;) Soul and flowers,, ty Jenny

Grocery Store Adventures
I have five kids. I practically live at the grocery store. I'm not complaining, I'm grateful I have the variety to pick from and the money to pay for it.  I know that place like the back of my hand.  I don't know the aisle numbers, but I write my list according to their location if I'm organized,

Food Love
They say it's not healthy to love food, but I do. I guess it's healthy to love celery...but does anyone really LOVE celery? Maybe there is someone. Even as a healthy chick, I still love cheese fries. But a healthy love, not a negative one. I'm picky about which place I get them from and know I can't

Raise Your Vibe, Change Your Life
It's easy to complain. I can fall into that trap as a mom especially.  When we're on that complaining, love vibe channel, we see a bunch of crap come on our screen.  Everything is broken.  Everything needs to be fixed.  It's exhausting.  Everything is.  At the end of the summer, I was burnt ou

What does a strong women look like?
We're all used to seeing strong women portrayed on television. She's fighting crime. She's tough. She doesn't like people to get too close to her.  Softness equals weakness.  That's good and all for entertainment, but for me I see strength differently. I have many friends who embody strength to

I Pray for the Schools
Three of my children start school tomorrow here in New Jersey. So much has changed since I was a kid. I am not a person who hates on how things are, but as a mom, I can wish for the feeling of innocence we all had when I was in in the second grade. My oldest starts her Senior year of high school (cu
