Safe Place with Ruth Graham
Bio

“Transparent” is the word most people use to describe Ruth Graham.

No stranger to heartache, she seeks to provide a Biblical perspective to her journey of faith. She is warm and talks openly about her own need for a safe place as she journeyed through her husband’s infidelities, her subsequent depression, her divorces, her teenage daughter’s two unplanned pregnancies, another daughter’s bulimia, her son’s battle with drugs, grandson's special needs and returning to school at age 40.

Although born into the "famous" Graham family Ruth did not feel she had a safe place to unburden the secrets of her life. She felt she had to project and image and wear a mask that she "had it all together". She had to meet others' expectations of her. It was not until a mid-life crisis did that she fully discover the unconditional love and grace of God. Her life's passion is to connect people to that same grace and love she found, no matter who they are or what sin.

Ruth is an experienced conference speaker and Bible teacher. She has appeared on a variety of radio and television shows including: Good Morning, America, The Hour of Power, Focus on the Family, Moody Broadcasting, Fox & Friends, CBN, Life Today and CNN. She has worked in publishing for over 14 years and is the founder of the Ruth Graham & Friends Ministry.

Ruth has three grown children and nine grandchildren. She lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her life Bible verse is John 1:16.

I have been away because my computer died. As in DEAD. NADA. GONE. So discouraging and so aggravating. Now I am trying to learn a new computer and the one program I used the most changed! I am frustrated with […]

With the warm weather we are having here in Virginia, it makes me get itchy to get in the yard.  Garden catalogues are arriving each day. Seeds are on sale in the store…The daffodils are peeking up – as is […]

Several things I heard last week are worth passing along. “Feelings are not facts.” That is so true but we act like feelings are facts. I may feel my friend was offended and nurse a hurt but later I  found […]

So many people, including me, wonder what God looks like. In my imagination I see him looking like Michelangelo’s Moses which is in the Vatican. Very imposing. Impressive. But last week as I was preparing  a message for a ladies’ […]

I have enjoyed watching politics since I first voted in 1968. I am a registered independent – always have been.  I have sent money to both Republicans and Democrats. That does not make me an expert on anything but I […]

I happened to run across a verse  in the book of Numbers in the bible That I hadn’t seen before. Oh, I ‘d seen it and read it but it hadn’t grabbed my attention as it did the other morning. […]

I love a good mystery. When I travel I always take one along to read – it’s a form of escape for me. Some of my favorite mystery writers are Ted Bell, David Baldacci, Clive Cussler, John Grisham, James Paterson. […]

I think I shared with you last year that I decided to read through the Chronological Bible in 2015. I did. I heartily recommend it. The year’s reading ends in Revelation. With all the tragic news of 2015, all the […]

We are entering a new year. We may have plans, goals, and resolutions but have we stopped to invite God into the process? It is good to plan the year. Ask Him meet us in it – to dwell with […]

It had been a long 400 years of silence. Malachi had been the last “official” word from God. Now the silence was deafening. Life went on but where was God? Did He care? Did He leave them? Did He forget […]
