Safe Place with Ruth Graham
Bio

“Transparent” is the word most people use to describe Ruth Graham.

No stranger to heartache, she seeks to provide a Biblical perspective to her journey of faith. She is warm and talks openly about her own need for a safe place as she journeyed through her husband’s infidelities, her subsequent depression, her divorces, her teenage daughter’s two unplanned pregnancies, another daughter’s bulimia, her son’s battle with drugs, grandson's special needs and returning to school at age 40.

Although born into the "famous" Graham family Ruth did not feel she had a safe place to unburden the secrets of her life. She felt she had to project and image and wear a mask that she "had it all together". She had to meet others' expectations of her. It was not until a mid-life crisis did that she fully discover the unconditional love and grace of God. Her life's passion is to connect people to that same grace and love she found, no matter who they are or what sin.

Ruth is an experienced conference speaker and Bible teacher. She has appeared on a variety of radio and television shows including: Good Morning, America, The Hour of Power, Focus on the Family, Moody Broadcasting, Fox & Friends, CBN, Life Today and CNN. She has worked in publishing for over 14 years and is the founder of the Ruth Graham & Friends Ministry.

Ruth has three grown children and nine grandchildren. She lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her life Bible verse is John 1:16.

Oklahoma has been under siege with the terrible storms marching through that state. The storms seem to be taking the same path. Not only the tornadoes but the flooding. Repeated damage, repeated fear, loss of life, unending anxiety… This morning […]

I am not sure why people say “Happy Memorial Day”. For those who have an empty place at the table, surely it isn’t  “happy”. But I pray they will feel the gratitude of a nation that knows their ability to […]

The scenes from Oklahoma are beyond imagination. It is hard to take it all in. The massive storm, the fear of those fleeing its path, the destruction left behind, the loss of life, the heartache. How does one even begin? […]

Recently I heard a politician tell his audience that he would make sure a certain bill was put forward because of the emotional wear and tear on victims of violence. He got applause. I thought about what he had said. […]

The news is full of reports of violence. Homemade bombs explode killing and wounding. We are outraged and angry. Sad and bewildered. Understandably. We are so blessed to live in a country where these things are the exception rather than […]

I didn’t wake up today thinking my life would change. But it has. Suicide. The word is so cold and ugly. It is so stark and final. And yet it leaves so much behind. Unanswered questions. Unfinished business. Unspeakable grief. […]

Hallelujah!

The news is full of the gun control issue. Everyone seems to be concerned…I am beginning to wonder if I should go out and buy one just because I can and perhaps one day I will not be allowed to […]

The last post I wrote about silence in Heaven. Perhaps you are wondering – or not – why I have been silent. I have been traveling! My creativity does not travel well and my focus is on the task at […]

The 8th chapter of Revelation, verse 1 says, “And when He broke the seventh seal there was silence in heaven for about half and hour.” Think about that. All through Revelation up to this point we have been told that […]
