Safe Place with Ruth Graham
Bio

“Transparent” is the word most people use to describe Ruth Graham.

No stranger to heartache, she seeks to provide a Biblical perspective to her journey of faith. She is warm and talks openly about her own need for a safe place as she journeyed through her husband’s infidelities, her subsequent depression, her divorces, her teenage daughter’s two unplanned pregnancies, another daughter’s bulimia, her son’s battle with drugs, grandson's special needs and returning to school at age 40.

Although born into the "famous" Graham family Ruth did not feel she had a safe place to unburden the secrets of her life. She felt she had to project and image and wear a mask that she "had it all together". She had to meet others' expectations of her. It was not until a mid-life crisis did that she fully discover the unconditional love and grace of God. Her life's passion is to connect people to that same grace and love she found, no matter who they are or what sin.

Ruth is an experienced conference speaker and Bible teacher. She has appeared on a variety of radio and television shows including: Good Morning, America, The Hour of Power, Focus on the Family, Moody Broadcasting, Fox & Friends, CBN, Life Today and CNN. She has worked in publishing for over 14 years and is the founder of the Ruth Graham & Friends Ministry.

Ruth has three grown children and nine grandchildren. She lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her life Bible verse is John 1:16.

When we make a mistake it is easy to forgive ourselves – of course, depending on the mistake. I am thinking of a minor infraction – getting a speeding ticket. But if we repeat that mistake it becomes a little […]

I have not tried – I don’t have the time – but I have heard that it takes hours to get the Affordable Care Act to answer the phone in order to sign up for this new health care plan! […]

Here we go again! The leaders in Washington – regardless of party affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, age – are not leading. They will not let go of their own egos to try to do what is right for this […]

The debate seems endless. Good people, highly educated people, thinking people are walking around in circles. What they are saying doesn’t make sense. They speak gobblety-gook. There are times I feel they puposefully complicate the issues so as to confuse […]

The debate about Syria continues. Obamacare seems to have many flaws that will cost our citizens dearly. The President’s foreign policy – simply isn’t. A convicted man hangs himself in his prison cell. Gas prices are on the rise because […]

God told Abraham at a time when he was way too old to have kids that he was, in fact , going to have a son and, through that son Abraham would be the father of many nations. That was […]

I was away from home tending to my youngest daughter who was in the hospital last week. The doctors discovered she has an aortic aneurysm. We were taken off guard – it was a shock to us – especially […]

Speaking of “safe places”…Would you put the fish bowl down on the floor in front of a cat? Would you put a martini in front of an alcoholic? The Catholic Church has been plagued with scandals of sexual abuse. Young […]

Have you noticed how the media has gone from an obsession over fires out West to  Edward Snowden to George Zimmerman to the royal baby? The media sets the agenda – what is important, what is center stage and for […]
