Reformed Chicks Blabbing

One Final Word

posted by aarnold

My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her doctors told Michele that she was an incredibly strong and brave woman.  With great difficulty, Michele mouthed the words “It is the Lord.”  This was her story, this was her song.  She knew that her Savior was the source of all of her strength and blessings.

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow’r of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.

Michele’s suffering has ended, and for that I am so thankful. Still, I will miss her for the rest of my life here, under the sun. Please keep her dear husband, daughters, and family in your prayers.

And thus ends this blog.  She was its driving force, hers was the vision and the passion for this medium.  I felt that it was only right to leave her readers with this final update.  Thank you.

Michel and I often disagreed. Sometimes, quite emphatically, though I don;t believe either of us succumbed to the crass and snide insults and personal attacks which too often typify internet exchanges. I have frequently checked to see if I could find out what had become of her after the blog was discontinued. I am not surprised, given the sverity of her illness. But, I am glad she found comfort in her relationship with God, and I hope her family and loved ones will do the same.

The Satanish Who Argued with Michelle

posted July 3, 2012 at 2:36 pm

I was the Satanist who always argued with Michelle, well, at least once a day. While many of the true believers on Michelle’s side may find this hard to believe, I wish her family peace and I bless her memory.

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out
