OH.MY.HECK! I could not believe this when I read the news this morning, I thought it was a joke! What in the world has Obama done to earn a Nobel Peace Prize (btw, I had a hard time finding a news source that just reported the news without asking why)? When the nomination was made, he had only been in office for two weeks!!! This is not a rhetorical question, people, I’m really interested in the answer to that question. What has he done?

US President Barack Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize less than a year after taking office.
The jury that awards the prize hailed his “extraordinary” diplomatic efforts on the international stage.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee cited his outreach to the Muslim world and his attempts to curb the spread of nuclear weapons.
The stunning choice made Mr Obama the third sitting American president to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
His name had been mentioned in speculation about possible winners, but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early for him to take the award – he took office only two weeks before award nominations closed.

I’m not the only one asking why, Lech Walesa is as well:

“Who? What? So Fast?” he said when reporters told him about the latest Obama win.
“Well, there’s hasn’t been any contribution to peace yet. He’s proposing things, he’s initiating things, but he is yet to deliver,” he said.

And so are our fellow Americans:

“It would be wonderful if I could think why he won,” said Claire Sprague, 82, a retired English professor as she walked her dog in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. “They wanted to give him an honor I guess but I can’t think what for.”
[…]
When told of Obama’s win Robert Schultz, 62, a retired civil servant and Vietnam veteran, asked: “For doing what?
“The guy hasn’t solved any conflict anywhere so how can he win the peace prize? But if we don’t reelect him the next go around we will all look like idiots because the world has anointed him,” said Schultz, who lives in a suburb of Dallas.

I don’t agree with that btw, we will look incredibly smart kicking him out by the time he’s done trashing our economy and the safety of this nation.
No only are Poland and the average Americans stunned by Obama’s win but the MSM is as well:

LAUER: There are no major foreign policy achievements to date … In some ways he wins this for not being George W. Bush.
GREGORY: That’s an inescapable conclusion.

Of course we all realize that’s the real reason.
And what’s so ironic about this is that this is the guy who put off meeting with the Dalai Lama because he didn’t want to anger China. And he’s the guy who is ready to allow the women of Afghanistan to be enslaved once again by allowing the Taliban back in power. Bush brought freedom but Obama brings enslavement.
If this doesn’t dishonor the award, nothing will. Just look at who Nobel intended to be awarded the Peace Prize:

In his 1895 will, Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go “to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses”.

In the two weeks he was in office, how did he fulfill this requirement?
Obama’s reaction? Humility by giving back the award knowing that he didn’t do anything to deserve it? Concerned that someone more deserving isn’t going to receive it? Of course not! Who are we talking about here? The One.
BTW, I found this pretty funny.
