But, of course, that doesn’t stop the pollsters from doing it. The only polls that I’m interested in are the ones leading up to the actually election (in October). This poll is a huge waste of time and money because Obama’s presidency is in it’s infancy. Who knows how much more he’ll blow it by then 🙂 I’m sharing it with you because I was struck with how close the race would be (maybe evidence of buyer’s remorse?).

If the 2012 presidential election were held today, President Obama and possible Republican nominee Mitt Romney would be all tied up at 45% each, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.
The president, seeking a second four-year term, beats another potential GOP rival, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, by six points – 48% to 42%.

BTW, the pollsters keep matching Obama up with the losers from 2008, maybe the Republicans will get a clue and put up someone more fiscally attractive (like Mitch Daniels, governor of Indiana, who “cut the rate of spending from 5.9% to 2.5% and now has a surplus instead of the deficit he inherited)
