This should send a tingle up the leg of the atheists, more people are leaving organized religion:

Fifteen percent of respondents said they had no religion, an increase from 14.2 percent in 2001 and 8.2 percent in 1990, according to the American Religious Identification Survey.
Northern New England surpassed the Pacific Northwest as the least religious region, with Vermont reporting the highest share of those claiming no religion, at 34 percent. Still, the study found that the numbers of Americans with no religion rose in every state.

The current survey, being released Monday, found traditional organized religion playing less of a role in many lives. Thirty percent of married couples did not have a religious wedding ceremony and 27 percent of respondents said they did not want a religious funeral.

I’m not surprised that the number of people who leave organized religion is increasing, religion is pretty unpopular right now. If you admit to being a Christian, you’re viewed as an idiot and zealot and avoided like the plague. It’s considered rude to share your faith with others, no one wants to hear it. You are pretty much viewed as a freak. Why would anyone want to join a religion under those conditions?
So, crow away atheists it appears that you are winning the battle. We are in retreat and you may one day become the majority religion in America. But I will rest in the knowledge that though you may win many battles, the final victory belongs to the Lord and one day you will acknowledge his kingship over you:

Romans 14:11 for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

You can scoff at this all you want but one day you will learn the truth, my prayer for you is that it’s not on judgment day.
