Because I had surgery again! This time I can post a picture of the part of my body that went under the knife:

Isn’t it gross? It’s a ganglion cyst. Usually it’s on the wrist but of course I have to be different. I’ve been waiting to get it removed forever (I’ve had it for a year but my doctor didn’t realize what it was until recently) but I had to wait for the end of the semester since it was on my right hand and I knew I would be unable to take notes or take my finals after surgery. Then I had to wait until after my other surgery and then when I was sure I wasn’t going to need yet another surgery and we had finally gotten rid of the bacteria, I made the appointment for surgery. I could have had it drained but there is a higher recurrence rate and I didn’t want it coming back and then having to wait yet again until the end of yet another semester.

So, now I can’t use my thumb for five days and it will take three to four weeks before I can work out with it 🙁 I didn’t think I would have a problem blogging since I don’t use my thumb for anything but the space bar but I have to elevate my thumb and the dressing is pretty big and it’s a little painful to type. So, my posts will be pithier than usual 🙂
