I was once at a church where the pastor disciplined a church member and received anonymous hate mail. I was in shock that Christians would not come to the pastor as it says to do in Scripture (I was pretty naive back then) so nothing that happens in the church surprises me anymore:

According to a police report, the note read, “Resign this Sunday or else.”

Instead of being upset, the congregation should be thankful they have such a wise pastor. It’s evident from the reaction that the congregation doesn’t understand that there really is no reason to display the American flag in church, it marks territory it does not own. The church transcends nations and shouldn’t be characterized by any one nation. And a Christian flag is not necessary, the kingdom is represented by it’s people, not a flag.
