There is no secret that I am a huge PIttsburgh Steelers fan. I grew up in the 70’s and it was known asThe Decade of Steel. The Steeler Super Bowl posters were hung all over my room, I wore the huge black and yellow oversized Steeler jacket. It was a great decade to be alive for a young Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Last decade yielded two wins and in looks like this decade is off to a great start for Steeler fans.
According to everything Pittsburgh: “Since 1967, there has been a total of 44 Superbowls played. Out of those 44, there has been 4 appearances by the Green Bay Packers, yielding 3 wins. There has been 7 appearances by the Pittsburgh Steelers, yielding 6 wins. What does this tell you? Consider this, out of the 4 appearances by the Packers, 2 of them came before we landed on the moon. The other 2 came before we ever heard of the Y2K problem. Out of the 6 appearances by the Steelers, 4 came before Ronald Reagan was elected, the first time. The last 2 came in the last 5 years. Yeah, if you didn’t know, the Steelers have won 2 Superbowl Championships in the last 5 years.”
In short, that’s the “Steeler Way” — an unwavering devotion to getting one kind of player and playing one brand of football that has resulted in one outcome more often than any other over the past 40 years: The season ending with the Steelers holding the Super Bowl trophy. Come on Steelers, put a whipping on the Packers! 🙂
