House votes to overhaul health overhaul plan. The GOP dealt a huge blow to Planned Parenthood on Friday by voting to remove all funding from the organization – a total of 317 million dollars. This could have to do with the recent video proving Planned Parenthood was helping sex workers and human traffickers. Whatever the reason, the House seems to be serious in reducing funding to a controversial organization.

The Washington Post has stated, “The passage of the Planned Parenthood defunding measure, sponsored by Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), came after the House debated the amendment for almost three hours Thursday night.

The House’s approval of the amendments aiming to defund the national health-care law, sponsored by Republican Reps. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.), Steve King (Iowa) and Jo Ann Emerson (Mo.), followed similarly heated debate on the House floor Friday.”

Whatever the results as the cuts go to the Senate, Planned Parenthood is in need of some significant changes in how they do business and who they are doing business with.
