March for Life 2011 .Today is the 38th annual March for Life event and supporters are flooding Washington DC.

As we continue to celebrate Sanctity of Life Month, The March for Life today marks the 38th anniversary of Roe v. Wade (officially Jan. 22), a landmark Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. Victories at the polls in November among conservative politicians have led some to believe that there is an opportunity to reign in the access that Roe v. Wade granted.

As Associated Content Reports on March for Life 2011, “As the 2011 March for Life kicks off, abortion opponents are optimistic. The March for Life began as a grass-roots movement in 1974, where 20,000 supporters marched in Washington D.C. In recent years, that number has increased tenfold. With the most recent U.S. election results there are now 29 anti-abortion governors, an increase of eight, and in 15 states opponents control both legislative chambers. Turn out is once again expected to be high.”
