Merry Christmas!

The day of Christ’s Advent is here, and I wish you and your family a happy, safe, and sacred Christmas day.

Today, God begins His rescue mission. As the words of O Come, O Come Emmanuel say:

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

No longer are we lonely or exiled. The Messiah is here and the rescue begins. Jesus came to pay the ransom for our sin, and to win us back to God.

Once rescued, it is our duty in the Kingdom to go out and rescue others…the oppressed, the slave, the downtrodden, the hopeless.

Jesus, thank you for rescuing us. Give us the strength and power to follow you in your footsteps and to set even more captives free–in Your Name and for Your Kingdom. Amen
