Brian McLaren talks about Being a Heretic with Scot McKnight

posted by Tom Davis
I know both of these men well. Glad they are appearing together for this. Please watch the video. They both talk about issues of poverty and orphans.
Thanks to my buddy, Matthew Turner for the Video

McLaren is very charming and skilled in being evasive.
Maybe this song will help you understand what I am trying to get across…

Wowee…I’ve never heard him speak and I LOVE his humility, his openness to the questions, his concern for the things that he sees in the Bible and in the life of Jesus. How often can he say “you’re asking the wrong question!” before we get down off our soap boxes and open our ears to hear the Spirit of God??
I’d like more of the Spirit whispering through Brian McLaren and less clanging gong of those who wear the label “Christian” to condemn everything in sight.

I wish he would have answered the question in a more straightforward manner. But I see what he’s getting at by avoiding labels.
I also agree with you Colleen. The man says he follows Christ, loves the Bible, etc. Perhaps he doesn’t do everything right but who among us does. Seems like Jesus had some good things to say about these issues in Luke 9:49-51: “Master,” said John, “we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us. Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”

At first I was loving it, then it became kinda psycho babble to me. I think I would like his books probably.
He said narrative too much.

Touching the Image of Jesus: Part 2
When we left Alexandra, she was wondering how she was going to raise $3,411 to travel across the world with a group of Christians she didn't know. She wasn't a Christian and had no church. But she did feel deeply compelled to get on this trip to the Ludlati CarePoint. So she decided to enter a
