The Heartwork/Desperation Band partnership has significantly impacted and improved the opportunities for ministry that we have here on the ground.  I am so excited about the work that has been done through the grant we have received.

Phase one of our CarePoint model is made up of a kitchen, a water source typically a well with either an electric or solar pump, a fence, a pit latrine, a playground and a multi-purpose facility that can be used for discipleship.

Through the Heartwork/Desperation Band ministry we have completed a full CarePoint buildout at Mpaka.  When we arrived at Mpaka the facilities were rough to say the least.  The church building was in disrepair, the kitchen was a rudimentary structure built of mud and stick, there was no water source, and the perimeter was not fenced.

Today Mpaka looks very different, we have a fence, a brand new kitchen,  a water source, a playground, a pit latrine and the church has been completely refurbished. Mpaka is a source of light and hope in the community.  Because of the tremendous blessing that we have received we have the opportunity to minister to over 100 orphaned and vulnerable children in the Mpaka community.

The grant has also allowed us to build kitchens at 4 other CarePoints.  We have also been able to provide clean water in the form of a well at one of our CarePoints…and all of this is thanks to the Heartwork/Desperation Band partnership.

I know that Swaziland may seem like a world away, I know that challenges of the Swazi people are so different from the challenges you experience daily, but please know this.  The children that visit our CarePoints in Swaziland love you, they are thankful for you.  They would want me to express their extreme gratitude for the all that you are doing on their behalf.
