Orphan’s Ticket Home: August 8 in Nashville

posted by Tom Davis

On Saturday,
August 8th I have the privilege of speaking at
the "Orphan's Ticket Home Gala" in Nashville, TN. This event is hosted by the America World Adoption Association and will also feature Sparrow Recording Artist,
Britt Nicole and a great silent auction packed with wonderful items.

This is a great opportunity for those in the Nashville area to come together and support the cause of the orphan. If you are in the area, please see the Orphan's
Ticket Home website
for more information.
Come on out and join us for a night of worship, fellowship, and giving.

Since 2004, I have personally known Brian Luwis and the great people at America World Adoption Association (AWAA). They were among some of the leading partners for our ONE ORPHAN campaign that helped expand our transitional living services in Russia.

More recently, we've partnered with them in Ethiopia. Back in December 2007, AWAA was our first stop on the 12 Days of Christmas.  And in May 2009, we completed a successful fformula fundraising drive for malnourished infants in the AWAA transitional home. One of those babies is about to be adopted by the Monbergs, hopefully later this month.

I had no idea that the Monberg’s future new family member was among the babies that are receiving formula as a result of the HopeChest/AWAA formula drive! That is so close to home!! Thank God for the people who gave so these babies could grow healthy and for the AWAA adoptive families who transported the formula to Ethiopia. :)

Thanks for the update. On the topic of Ethiopian orphans, please pray for the nearly 400 families (and their children) who have been left in a critical place when a Canadian adoption agency declared bankruptcy recently.
Peace,
Jamie

Wish I could come, but I live too far away. I hope you all have a great night.

Touching the Image of Jesus: Part 3
In the final chapter of Alexandra's story, she shares what happened when she boarded the plane for Swaziland with her teammates. This post is a little longer, but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to put it down. Thank you again, Alexandra, for sharing your heart and story with all of us. Fol

Touching the Image of Jesus: Part 2
When we left Alexandra, she was wondering how she was going to raise $3,411 to travel across the world with a group of Christians she didn't know. She wasn't a Christian and had no church. But she did feel deeply compelled to get on this trip to the Ludlati CarePoint. So she decided to enter a
