“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:20).

The writer of Hebrews lays down the challenge, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.” (Hebrews 4:16) We have. We have walked in and asked God as he has asked us to ask. God has woven prayer into his sovereign authority, and it remains a mystery we cannot understand how.

And yet, our asking is just the beginning. God waits for our request, then when we step up, he responds with more, far more! The actual translation here can read, “…exceedingly abundantly above and beyond.” We ask and God answers over the top.

As audacious as your prayers have been, God is about to surprise you with something you never dreamt could be. In fact, his answers are ALWAYS more. God ALWAYS answers “yes” because he answers better than we can pray. Our prayers are half-baked and imperfect. But God fills our gaps and works above and beyond our limited understanding.

Ask, and don’t be surprised when he surprises you above and beyond!
