The Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him. (2 Chronicles 30:9)

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19)

It is so easy to create a god in our own image – one who is like us:  quick to be angry, slow to forgive. On the contrary, our God is who He says He is:  gracious, compassionate, faithful to forgive, and willing to offer help and refreshment when we don’t deserve it.

Need some grace today? Our God is overflowing with it. Yet He will always fight for your highest possible good! He won’t mess around with pandering to you. He loves you too much for that.

Loving Father,

Thank you for your power to forgive. Thank you even more that you promise to forget my sin as well. Only an Almighty God can choose to forget as well as forgive. I receive your grace and forgiveness, and I put you on the throne of my life – You, the God who knows no grudges, the God who hasn’t a chip on his shoulder, You, the God who is not angry with me. Thank you,  gracious Father. I receive your unending, never-failing love today.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen
